Label Maker is a Google Docs add-on that lets you create professional mailing labels in minutes. This guide walks you through the basics of creating your first labels.
Step 1: Install Label Maker
First, you need to install Label Maker from the Google Workspace Marketplace:
- Open Google Docs and create a new document
- Click Extensions in the menu bar
- Select Add-ons → Get add-ons
- Search for "Label Maker" and click Install
- Grant the necessary permissions when prompted
Tip: You can also install directly from the Google Workspace Marketplace.
Step 2: Open Label Maker
Once installed, open Label Maker from the Extensions menu:
- Click Extensions → Label Maker → Create Labels
- The Label Maker sidebar will appear on the right side of your document

- A label template will be inserted into your document
- Click inside any label cell to add your text

- Ensure Scale is set to 100% or Actual size
- Do a test print on regular paper first
- Hold the test print against your label sheet to check alignment
Important: Always set margins to "None" in print settings. Default margins will cause your labels to print offset.
